I’ve been invited to a Go tournament in Guilin, China but unfortunately can
’t participate. The organizers, however, seem to be very eager to attract
foreign go players so here are some details for people interested.
Date: 2005, September 1~6
Place: Guilin, China
Schedule:
1 Sept. arrival (regardless of the exact arrival time players will be met at
the airport)
2~4 Sept. 2 games/ day
5 Sept. sightseeing
6 Sept. leave
Cost: Free, participants have to pay their own travel expenses but once in
Guilin the organizers will take care of the rest (entrance fee, meals,
travel expenses inside Guilin, Hotel cost and sightseeing expenses).
Tournament: 6 rounds, 2-player teams, Chinese rules, 90 min/ pp, sudden
death
Prices will be given for the winner of the team tournament and the
individual tournament.
All participants will receive a certificate and a souvenir.
It seems to be possible to join the tournament both as a team or alone but I
’m not sure about this. I do not have a contact address.
